Training session with Peace Action Training and Research Romania Conflict, Negotiation and Mediation training in Cuba

Gerry’s passionate interest is in international conflict. Gerry trained in "Systemic Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation and Post-War Recovery and Reconciliation" with the Peace Action Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR) and is she is now an associate with their Department of Peace Operations (DPO ).

She has trained in Negotiation in Conflict Situations and in the Evaluation and Assessment of Peace Interventions. Gerry has spent many months volunteering in the West Bank providing protection by presence to Palestinians, monitoring human rights breaches and providing support to Palestinian and Israeli peace activists, whilst listening to horrific stories of torture, conflict and human destruction from people with incredible resilience and gentleness. She has engaged in advocacy work at EU, Irish and U.K. Governmental level. Gerry directed, filmed and produced a documentary, Stolen Children, Stolen Lives, about the imprisonment and abuses of Palestinian children, aged 9 - 15.

Gerry O’Sullivan has also worked in Serbia with Mediators Beyond Borders and she has delivered Conflict, Negotiation and Mediation training in Cuba in partnership with CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), London, U.K.
